There is a wonderful world of witchery out there! For those who are curious as to which type of witch would fit them best here is a list of traits and terms so you can define yourself with what meets you best.
A rainbow of witches...sort of.
There are the witches that believe in delivering only good intentions and casting good spells. There are those who believe in darker energies and casting spells of spite and hexes. Then there are some that believe magic is meant to be a little bit of both. Lastly on the color-witch spectrum are the witches who embrace the powers of earth and nature for their energies and spells. I am talking about the white, black, grey, and green witches. The majority of people in touch with their inner-witchyness fall into the last two categories- grey and green and agree that there needs to be a balance in their magic practices for the best results.
Speaking of the earth...
There are other witches who believe in the powers of earth energy, but through the use of crystals. Crystal Witches use different types of stones to represent and channel energies. There is not an excessive about of herbalist practice with crystal witches, but over the many years of witch practices witches of all kinds incorporate stones in their spells or meditation.
Traveling into the cosmos...
Cosmic Witches focus their practices on the sky and its natural control over our lives. The rotation of the earth, the wisdom of the stars, the positioning of the sun, moon, and planets are all in the realm of the cosmic witch. These elements can determine the outcome of situations due to their placement in the sky. Cosmic witches also focus energy on tarot cards and zodiac signs.
It is in your blood...
Unfortunately, the practice of witchcraft was heavily dismissed and discouraged for many decades. Many families removed the traditions from their daily lives due to the persecution of witches throughout history. If you are one of the fortunate few who's family passed on the traditions of witchcraft that you practice to this day you're likely a hereditary witch. Now that burning someone at the stake is illegal you should share everything you know with the rest of us!
